The Artist
Award-winning guitarist, songwriter, and singer Fernando Noronha is one of Brazil's most electrifying blues icons. Hailing from Porto Alegre — the Gaucha capital — he has always identified with Texas Blues, consciously forging his own path apart from popular Brazilian music.
Since 1995, he has led Fernando Noronha & Black Soul across South America, Europe, the U.S., and Canada, headlining major festivals including the Montreal Jazz Festival (Canada), Augusti Blues Festival (Estonia), and the Santiago International Jazz Festival (Chile).
He has backed up and worked closely with legends such as B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, Chris Duarte (who produced two albums for Fernando), Ron Levy, and many more.
Through the very definition of blues — combining African rhythms with European compositions — this Brazilian Blues band re-invents the genre while taking their loyal audience to new heights.
Weaving Texas-style blues with the deep roots of Chicago and New Orleans, seasoned with raw Brazilian soul and a touch of the 21st century, Fernando & his band are currently touring to support his latest Worldhaus Music release, Ain't No Hiding from the Blues.
